Beginning January 1, 2015 as part of the Indianapolis Landlord Registration Program, all owners or landlords of residential rental units will be required to register the properties with the City of Indianapolis Department of Business and Neighborhood Services (BNS).
Here you will find information for residents and neighborhoods as well as for landlords.
Start first, with the Landlord Registry Fact Sheet. That should answer most questions about What the registry is and how it works.
If you are a registered landlord looking to RENEW your registered properties, click the Renewal Instructions Icon above for more information
If you are a resident, neighbor, or renter interested in seeing if the property you live in or are interested in, is listed on the registry, click the Registered Properties list. BUT. Before you do, be aware that this is an Excel file of immense size. Please be patient.
Do you suspect there is a landlord who is disregarding the law and renting property in the City but not on the registry? Please submit the address to firstname.lastname@example.org and they will follow up to get them registered.
If you have trouble, or have ideas to make the registry more user friendly, let us know.
