This year on Saturday June 30th, for the 2nd year, Councilor Adamson will host his annual Community And Police in Partnership Against Crime event at the Historic Frederick Douglass Park in the heart of Martindale Brightwood and will coincide with the Indy Parks PACK THE PARKS Event. 

This is the 10th year for this event and the second one in 3 years to be held at Douglass Park. 

This event will feature a parade of children through the Oak Hill Neighborhood starting at 11am, followed by a community awards ceremony celebrating the essential partnership between the Community and IMPD. Immediately after the ceremony, a community cook out and Book Bag Give away will begin.

Road Work Ahead

Beginning on July 1, INDOT will close a portion of I-65. Drivers along this stretch are encouraged to plan now for alternate routes. The estimated reopen date for this project is August 5. 

Official word from INDOT: 

INDOT will close portions of I-65 in Indianapolis beginning July 1, 2018 for bridge preservation projects. The estimated date to reopen the interstate is August 5, 2018. Contractors will be rehabbing seven bridges along the stretch of I-65. This is not part of the highly-publicized North Split project.

Residents pack in for a standing room only, City County Council Department of Public Works Committee Hearing. On the agenda: A presentation by the ReThink I65/I70 group. 
City Council Vice President, and Chairman of the DPW Committee planed for the presentation to give the public at large, as well as the Indiana Dept of Transportation, the opportunity to see first hand the damage that will be done if the upcoming fix on the North Split is not done correctly, and avoiding the mistakes made by previous interstate projects.
