On July 23, 2019, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will host a Second Chance Workshop. The purpose of this event is to offer free assistance to those interested in seeking an expungement of their criminal history or restoration of a suspended driver's license. The event will be staffed by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office as well as private attorneys who will represent individuals pro bono. Event flyers in English and Spanish are attached, and your assistance in sharing this information with your network would be sincerely appreciated.

This year on Saturday June 30th, for the 2nd year, Councilor Adamson will host his annual Community And Police in Partnership Against Crime event at the Historic Frederick Douglass Park in the heart of Martindale Brightwood and will coincide with the Indy Parks PACK THE PARKS Event. 

This is the 10th year for this event and the second one in 3 years to be held at Douglass Park. 

This event will feature a parade of children through the Oak Hill Neighborhood starting at 11am, followed by a community awards ceremony celebrating the essential partnership between the Community and IMPD. Immediately after the ceremony, a community cook out and Book Bag Give away will begin.

Indy Library Moves Forward on New Brightwood Branch Project

 

  Purchase agreements approved by The Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees will clear the way for construction of a new Brightwood Branch on the city’s near east side.

  After more than a year of negotiations with property owners, Library trustees on December 18 approved purchases of four tracts totaling 2.3 acres on which a new 15,000-square-foot branch will be built. It will replace an undersized facility in the Brightwood Shopping Center that has served the community since 1972. Today, more than ever, the toxic environment in our halls of government is reaching epic proportions. Republicans refuse to work with Democrats and Democrats refuse to trust Republicans.

Additionally, according to polling done by Gallup the first week of March 2017, Congress has only a 24% approval rating.  (Gallup)  Knowing these simple facts, it would stand to reason that at election time, the voting public would act decisively to, as the saying goes, “Vote the bums out”.  So stark is this dislike of Congress that in January of 2013, surveys done by Public Policy Polling found that Congress has a lower favorability rating than cockroaches, root canals and head lice.
